WELL, ONE WEST JACKSON MAN COMPLAINING ABOUT HIS NOSY, NOISY NEIGHBOR WAS BROUGHT TO TEARS AT TODAY’S CITY COUNCIL MEETING. >> THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYBODY, BUT HAVING A CLUB AND DOING WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. AND I’M SORRY THAT I’M CRYING. >> THAT’S JOHN HOLT, HE TOLD CITY COUNCIL EARLIER TODAY THAT HE’S GOTTEN NO SATISFACTION AFTER CALLING POLICE MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR TO REPORT LOUD NOISES. A MOTORCYCLE CLUB NEXT DOOR TO HIS HOME ON GEDDES STREET NEAR BATTLEFIELD PARK. HE TOLD CITY COUNCIL THAT HIS WHEELCHAIR BOUND WIFE IS NOT WELL AND HE BELIEVES THE CLUB IS TRYING TO FORCE HIM OUT OF HIS HOME. ACCORDING TO HOLT, AFTER ONE RECENT CALL TO POLICE, A JPD SERGEANT TOLD HIM HE COULD BE ARRESTED AND CHARGED FOR ABUSING 911. >> I’M CALLING, I’M CALLING. I’M ONLY CALLING BECAUSE I’M BEING, UH, I’M BEING HURT. I HAVE PEOPLE COMMITTING CRIMES AGAINST ME. I ASKED HIM, I SAID, IF I CAN’T CALL THE POLICE, WHAT DO I DO? WHO DO I TALK TO? WE TRIED TO TALK TO HIM. I MEAN, WE CAN’T HELP OUR MOTORCYCLE IS LOUD. ANYBODY THAT KNOW HARLEY DAVIDSON IS A LOUD MOTORCYCLE? WE CAN’T HELP THAT. AND WE TALKED TO HIM. WE WORK WITH HIM. I MEAN, I DON’T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY ABOUT IT. >> POLICE CHIEF JOSEPH WADE SAID THAT THEY WILL INVESTIGATE HOLT’S COMPLAINT ABOUT THE SERGEANT. THE CHIEF SAID THERE MAY BE A ZONING ISSUE IN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD AND THAT CITY OFFICIALS WILL BE INVESTIGATING

Loud motorcycles led man to try to sell his Jackson home

One Jackson resident is pleading for answers to escape motorcycle noise he says is happening near his home. John Holt said he has been turning to law enforcement regarding a complaint about noise from a nearby motorcycle club. "We tried to sell our home so we wouldn't have to go back there," Holt said. "But we couldn't sell it because of the area it's in. What else can we do? We worked all our life to pay for what little we've got. It might not be a lot to some people, but it's all we got."Holt said a member of the club tried to reason with him."We tried to talk to him," said Ramond Wall, a member of Outcast Motorcycle Club. "We can't help that our motorcycles are loud. Anybody knows that a Harley-Davidson is a loud motorcycle. We can't help that, and we talked to him. We worked with him. I don't know what else to say about it."Wall said there are 16 members of the motorcycle club and they have a permit to be in the area.Police Chief Joseph Wade said there may be a zoning issue in the neighborhood. He said city leaders will be investigating whether the motorcycle club is a nuisance.
