​9:30 PM Update: Route 61 in Shamokin Township, Northumberland County is now open.

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised both lanes of Route 61 are closed between Route 487 and Route 225 in Shamokin Township, Northumberland County, due to a vehicle crash.

Route 61 southbound traffic is being detoured via Routes 487 and 54. Route 61 northbound traffic is being detoured via Routes 225 and 890. 

The roadway is expected to be closed for several hours

Motorists should be alert and expect travel delays. 

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, and relevant training.
