HOLT — A 69-year-old Holt man was arrested on outstanding warrants after intentionally driving his motorcycle off the road and crashing it.

Witnesses told the Florida Highway Patrol that Ronald Lee Welch was driving westbound on U.S. Highway 90 early Tuesday morning when he swerved into the woodline, according to the FHP media release.

Witnesses stopped and helped Welch, who had minor injuries.

When troopers arrived, he told them he purposely drove the bike off the road.

He was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center where he was treated and released. He was then taken into custody by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office on an active warrant for DUI with property damage.
