Steiner takes over leasing at New Hampshire’s Tuscan Village
Twenty years ago, Mike Powers played a central role in the tenanting of one of the nation’s most prominent shopping destinations, Columbus’s Easton Town Center, as the senior VP of leasing at Steiner + Associates.
Now Steiner is returning the favor.
As senior VP of leasing and development at Tuscan Village in Salem, N.H., Powers led the transformation of the shuttered Rockingham Park Racetrack into one of New England’s most dominant retail-based mixed-use centers.
Just 30 miles from Boston, Tuscan Village has become a key destination with 700,000 sq. ft. of retail inhabited by brands the likes of Whole Foods, Pottery Barn, The Capital Grille, Arhaus, and L.L. Bean.
Tuscan Village’s 170 acres also holds The Artisan, a 165-room boutique hotel, 2,000 residential units, and a 70,000-sq.-ft. Mass General Brigham medical center.
On the project’s docket now are 80,000 more square feet of retail, and Powers has engaged Steiner to lead the curation effort.
“This is a unique opportunity to connect premium national brands with Southern New Hampshire’s affluent, engaged consumers in a setting purpose-built for experiential retail,” said Spencer Jordan, Steiner’s senior VP of leasing in a press release announcing the appointment.
Steiner will lead the next phase of retail merchandising at Tuscan Village, which last year drew 7 million visitors, establishing itself as one of the premier destinations for shopping, dining, and events in the Northeast.
"We’re thrilled to work with Steiner + Associates to take our retail leasing efforts to the next level for Tuscan Village,” said Powers. “Their leasing team’s national retail relationships paired with their unique ability to secure high impact fashion, entertainment, and experiential tenants is sure to expand Tuscan Village’s retail offerings to continue to drive traffic and sales.”
