Dangerous Pothole: Authorities found a large pothole causing significant tire damage to numerous vehicles.

CHACHOENGSAO, Thailand – A large pothole on a busy road caused tire damage to over ten vehicles, including trucks and cars, before authorities intervened. The incident occurred around 9:30 PM on Thepparat Road (Bangna-Trad) near the Bang Pakong River Bridge, just before entering the bridge in Bang Wua Subdistrict, Phan Thong District, Chachoengsao Province.

Upon arrival, rescue workers and police discovered a large pothole approximately 1.2 meters long, 60 centimeters wide, and 20 centimeters deep, located in the left lane before the bridge. The area was flooded with water, and several vehicles, including motorcycles, had fallen into the hole, causing tire blowouts. One motorcyclist was injured in the incident, and more than ten vehicles were stranded by the pothole, waiting for tire replacements.

Suphatsak, 36, who was among the drivers whose vehicle fell into the hole, shared his experience: “It was too dark to see the pothole, and once I hit it, my car started swerving. I managed to stop it in the middle of the bridge, almost being hit by a truck. I had to drive the car down the slope to wait for a mechanic.”

By midnight, highway authorities had temporarily patched the hole with asphalt before further repairs were scheduled. (TNA)
