RAYTOWN, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas City man perished after he was thrown from his motorcycle during a collision in Raytown over the weekend.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, emergency crews were called to the area of E. 63rd and Ralston Ave., near the Raytown USPS, with reports of a 2-vehicle crash that involved a motorcycle.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a 21-year-old Kansas City man had been driving a 2023 Honda motorcycle east on the roadway when he struck a westbound 1997 Chevrolet driven by a 34-year-old Kansas City woman on the passenger side.

State Troopers indicated that the impact caused the driver to be thrown from the bike. He was taken to Research Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased by medical professionals.

Investigators noted that the motorcycle driver had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The Chevy’s driver, who escaped without injury, was wearing a seatbelt during the incident. Both vehicles were totaled as a result.

No further information has been released.
