Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association to host 'Ride to Remember'

One local non-profit is committed to doing all that it can to help veterans in need.

TIDEWATER, Va. — The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) is hosting its eighth annual Ride to Remember event.

The Ride to Remember event will be on May 18.  Registration starts at 9 a.m. The event will raise money for the Santa boot campaign. The program supports service members who are ill or who have lost family members.

CVMA is a charity that supports combat veterans from all branches who ride motorcycles as a hobby. CVMA Chapter 27-1 is the local Tidewater chapter.

"Our mission is to support and protect those who have defended our country and our freedoms. Our focus is to aid and help individual veterans, veteran families, veterans care facilities, and other veteran organizations and registered charities. We sponsor and participate in many veteran-related motorcycles and other charity events each year, and as a non-profit organization, donate to various veteran causes," Danny Tidwell said.

This year the ride will start at Bayside Harley Davidson and go to Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, and then back to Bayside Harley Davidson for the post-ride party.
