WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Cinemark movie theater on Riverdale Street in West Springfield was evacuated Friday following a bomb threat.

At approximately 5:08 p.m., the West Springfield Police Department received a call reporting a bomb threat at the Cinemark theater on Riverdale Street. According to police, the threat was vague and was overheard by a patron inside the theater.

As a precautionary measure, the theater was evacuated, and law enforcement conducted a thorough search of the premises. Fortunately, no suspicious items were found during the search, and authorities deemed the theater safe for patrons to return.

Despite the thorough search, the individual responsible for allegedly making the threats has not yet been identified. The West Springfield Police Department has initiated an ongoing investigation into the matter and urges anyone with information to come forward and contact the police.
