Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Company agent, Roland Smith will be honored at a come-and-go reception from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the county office at 615 XIT Drive in Littlefield, Texas on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Smith will officially retire from Texas Farm Bureau Insurance on February 28, 2023, after 43 ½ years of service.

Smith began his career as an agent in Hale County on October 1, 1979. He started working in Lamb County on May 1, 1986, where he served as the Agency Manager for 16 years. Since that time, he has served as a career agent specializing in crop insurance. Smith prided himself on customer service and his many clients can attest to his dedication in that area and his diligence to accurate and timely service.

During his time with Texas Farm Bureau, he attained Master Agent designation multiple years and ranked in Top 10 Sales numerous times. He served on the Leadership Council for Texas Farm Bureau Insurance.

Smith is a member of the Crescent Park Church of Christ and is married to his wife, Sherry. He has two children and seven grandchildren. He will enjoy his retirement continuing his hobbies of motorcycles, camping, shooting, and playing dominoes. Smith enjoyed his relationships with Farm Bureau members where his clients became friends. He was always willing to share his knowledge and offer helpful guidance for the products he sold.
