On the occasion of the 74th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the national flag at Kartavya Path on Thursday morning. The Republic Day parade represented the country's rising indigenous capabilities, Nari Shakti, and the creation of a "New India" while showcasing the military might and cultural variety of the nation. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of Egypt, will be the main guest this year.

To prevent any unexpected incidents, security has also been stepped up in preparation for Republic Day celebrations in the nation's capital. Additionally, police have increased monitoring, verification efforts, and anti-sabotage inspections. At least 24 support stations have been set up for people attending the celebrations along the Kartavya Path and some 6,000 security officers have been stationed in the New Delhi neighbourhood.

479 were artists selected in the national "Vande Bharatam" dance competition will deliver cultural performances. The dancers were chosen in a countrywide competition for the second time.

The expected flypast, featured participating aircraft from three forces, served as the event's grand conclusion. The last Vertical Charlie manoeuvre was be carried out by the nation's brand-new Rafale fighter aircraft. Rafale had participated in the parade the previous two years, but this was be the first time nine aircraft, or a fourth of the fleet, took part in the flypast.

In a first, a combined band and marching contingent of the Egyptian Armed Forces took part in the parade. The contingent will have 144 soldiers, representing the main branches of the Egyptian Armed Forces. The aim of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-three-day Sisi's state visit to New Delhi is to strengthen bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, including commerce, agriculture, and the digital space.
