A man is facing charges after authorities say he drove a stolen motorcycle into Lake Hartwell.
On August 17, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office asked for the public's help identifying a person who led deputies on a pursuit in the Timberlake One area near Townville.
At the time, authorities said the person was driving a motorcycle that matched the body style of a motorcycle that was reported stolen in the same area the same week.
During the pursuit, authorities said the driver accelerated the motorcycle, drove down the Timberlake Boat Ramp and into the water.
The driver was not found, but deputies did recover evidence.
Through that evidence, authorities say Shawn Lee Foote II, 23, was identified as the suspect and warrants were signed for his arrest.

According to the arrest warrants, Foote possessed a 2007 Suzuki Bandit 1250cc Motorcycle, knowing that the motorcycle was stolen.
The motorcycle was reported stolen by the owner on August 15 to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
Foote is facing several charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle and malicious damage to property.
Foote remains in jail on a combined $50,000 surety bond.
He will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released, authorities said.
