A 40-year-old man was grievously injured on Wednesday in a traffic accident in Luqa.

The police said the accident happened in Triq San Tumas at 6.45pm.

The victim, who is from Birżebbuġa, lost control of the Honda he was riding, crashed into a pavement and fell.

He was given first aid by a medical team on site and was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
