A TEENAGER who has been riding motorbikes since she was four years old has achieved a top spot in a world motorcycle championship.

Despite a rocky start to the season due to the coronavirus pandemic, Alicia Robinson, from Didcot, still managed to compete in the FIM Trial2 Women Vice World Championship and take second place on the podium.

The competition was rescheduled to run over three consecutive weekends, with the first round being held in the small French ski town of Isola in the French Alps.

The last round was held in the town of Sant Julia de Loria in Andorra and overall Miss Robinson finished in second place.

Miss Robinson said: "After a close battle throughout the season, I knew I had some work to put in to be in with the chance of finishing in the top three in the world.

"My family and I worked very hard over the winter, training both on the bike and in the gym, with early morning starts and late night finishes, so to finish second in the world feels like all of the hard work I have put in over the years is finally paying off.

"Sometimes it doesn’t feel real that I have achieved one of my dreams. However, I will still continue to work hard for next season."
