Biker injured in New Hampshire crash that killed 7 gets escort from Maine hospital
More than a month after a truck collided with a group of motorcyclists from the Jarheads Motorcycle Club in Randolph, New Hampshire, killing seven people, the last of the bikers hospitalized has left a Maine hospital.
Josh Morin, 45, of Massachusetts, was the most seriously injured of the bikers who survived the June 21 crash. Morin was flown by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he has been receiving treatment.
"We want him to know that no matter what we're brothers, and we're with him every step of the way," Kris Crawford, the vice president of the Maine chapter of the Jarheads, said.
Crawford led an escort Thursday that took Morin by ambulance from Maine Medical Center to a rehab hospital in Boston.
Crawford, a Marine who works at the Portland Jetport, said he is still processing what happened last month.
"It's still shocking. It's still tragic. We're still really dealing. We're only beginning to deal with this. The burials themselves, that took a week and a half to two weeks to get finished. So, we're just now winding down and being able to feel everything," Crawford said.
Morin suffered multiple broken bones to his left leg and foot. He underwent several surgeries at Maine Medical Center before being released Thursday morning.
Morin has filed a civil lawsuit against the driver of the truck charged in connection with the crash and the company he was working for.
Morin's wife, who was riding behind her husband, is also named as a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
