Surveillance video captures second motorcycle burglary in 2 days at dealership

HOUSTON – An alert tow truck driver caught burglars in the act at a north Houston motorcycle dealership.

The driver was passing by V1 Moto in the 10100 block of North Freeway around 3:15 a.m. when he spotted the burglary in progress and called 911, police said.

The driver chased after one of the burglars but lost the person, police said.

Police said the other burglars ran off, leaving behind a stolen truck.

They got away with at least one dirt bike, police said.

Surveillance video shows the burglars trying several times to pull the door off its frame. The thieves finally pull the door off with what police said is a stolen truck.

Both crooks go inside, and a few seconds later, two dirt bikes appear.

Eventually the tow truck appears in the top part of the screen.

The thieves appear to panic, but one of them is still determined to take the bike, even running to the truck to grab a water jug full of gasoline to fill it up.

The owner of the shop said this is the second time his dealership has been hit in the last two days. Thieves got away with six motorcycles, the owner said.

Police said they are trying to get fingerprints from the truck in hopes of identifying the thieves.
