Bajaj Auto has plans to launch the Pulsar RS 400 in the coming months. Rajiv Bajaj, the company’s Managing Director had hinted a few months back that the said motorcycle will hit the markets by the end of this year. Sadly, that does not seem to be happening as of now. However, a Bajaj Pulsar RS test mule has been snapped recently by the folks at Rushlane. The motorcycle is seen wearing heavy camouflage and hence, we believe that it is the Bajaj Pulsar RS 400 that must be undergoing test runs. If one takes a closer look, the motorcycle can be seen in red colour and it is one of the shades that will most likely go on offer with the RS 400. In case you are still unaware, the red colour option for the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 had been discontinued and the bike is currently being offered with only two colours of Racing Blue and Graphite Black.
Not many details are visible in the spy image and hence, nothing concrete about the motorcycle can be said at the moment. However, one prime visual highlight is the red alloy wheels. From our understanding, the Bajaj Pulsar RS 400 will come with significant changes on the aesthetic front to make it look considerably different from its younger sibling. Also, the motorcycle will most likely pack in more features than the RS 200 to keep up with the competition.
The Bajaj Pulsar RS 400 was first showcased as a concept model at the 2014 Auto Expo. Later on, the production model was launched retaining the design philosophy but with a smaller 200cc engine under the RS 200 name. The motorcycle received a good response in the market and in order to keep the momentum going, the Pune-based manufacturer added more shades to the range.
The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar RS 400 will rival against the likes of recently launched TVS Apache RR 310, KTM RC 390 and Benelli 302R. Expect the motorcycle to come at a price of close to Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). If you ask us, the manufacturer should keep the pricing under the said number if it wants to undercut the TVS flagship that has been receiving an overwhelming response.
