Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster was first revealed at the British motorcycle manufacturer’s headquarters in Hinckley last month and now, the motorcycle has been officially unveiled in India. The Bonneville Speedmaster is based on the Bonneville Bobber and has a relaxed cruiser-style riding stance. The motorcycle was unveiled at India Bike Week 2017 currently ongoing in Goa, the price announcement will be made early next year. When launched, the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster will be the brand’s most affordable cruiser at an expected price tag of about Rs 11-12 lakh (ex-showroom). The Speedmaster brand has been a part of Triumph’s lineup in international markets for a long time, however, this will be the first time it will be launched in India.
Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster is powered by the same engine as the Bobber and the Bonneville T120 but with some minor differences. The high-torque, 1200 cc parallel-twin engine makes 76 bhp of power at 6,100 rpm and 106 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Triumph says the Speedmaster makes up to 10 percent more torque at 4,500 rpm than the T120, and 2 percent more peak torque. With a dry weight of 245.5 kg, the Speedmaster will also be the heaviest model in the Bonneville series.
The Speedmaster is equipped with features such as a full LED headlamp, twin seat layout with contrast seat piping and pulled back beach-bars as well as forward-set foot controls. Other highlights of the Speedmaster include two riding modes – Road and Rain, ABS, switchable traction control and cruise control.
The motorcycle is available in three colours, namely; Jet Black, Cranberry Red and Fusion White/Phantom black with a twin-coach line. The company is also offering two packages – ‘Highway’ which gets an adjustable windscreen, leather panniers, more comfortable seats and a smattering of chrome trim. The second kit is the ‘Maverick’ that consists of a single seat, lower handlebars and a blacked-out Vance and Hines exhaust system.
