Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 Concept showcased at 2017 EICMA

Svartpilen translates to Black Arrow in English. True to its name, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 Concept can be seen standing out with that unique paint finish. Featuring a simple yet modern design, the Svartpilen 701 dark street naked street bike concept is due for launch sometime next year. It has made debut as a concept at 2017 EICMA.

It is based on the same platform as the Vitpilen 701, which was showcased in production ready guise at the same show. Powering the Svartpilen and Vitpilen are the same – single cylinder 692 cc engine from the KTM Enduro 690. This engine delivers max power of 55 kW (75 hp) @ 8,500 rpm and 72 Nm @ 6,750 rpm. Transmission is taken care by a 6 speed gearbox.

Speaking about their new Concept, Husqvarna says – “The new Husqvarna SVARTPILEN 701 is the dark street explorer, inspired by the resurgence of the iconic flat track scene, packaged as a progressive single-cylinder motorcycle that is designed to deliver an authentic, pure and honest riding experience.”

Built on a powder coated, Chromium-Molybdenum-Steel trellis frame, the concept bike comes with clip-on handle-bars, USD forks in the front, mono shock at the rear, disc brakes with Brembo pistons and Bosch ABS. It also gets a Stainless steel x.

It has a wheelbase of 1434 +/- 15 mm, a ground clearance of 140 mm, seat height of 830 mm. Fuel tank capacity is just 12 liters, including 2.5 liters reserve. More details are to be revealed closer to launch next year. Have a look at the images below.
