Motorcyclists to roll through Hunterdon communities during run to benefit veterans

A motorcycle run that will benefit area veterans groups will roll through a handful of Hunterdon County communities on Sunday, Sept. 16.

Registration for the Rotary Club of Branchburg's Second Annual Motorcycle Run will begin at 9 a.m. at Raritan Valley Community College, 118 Lamington Road, Branchburg. Bikers will start their escorted route at 11 a.m. and ride through Tewksbury, Califon and Three Bridges and wind their way around Round Valley Reservoir to Central Jersey Regional Airport via Hillsborough's back roads.

The club will provide food, beverages and live music to all participants. Bradley Garden's Dawn Patrol Motorcycle Club will assist with cooking and Somerville's local band "Audio Riff Raff'" will provide live music throughout the day. TriState Aviation Flight School will donate plane rides for a reasonable fee as a novelty twist to the run.

A Harley-Davidson Softail Low Rider will be raffled off at a cost of $25 per ticket, which can be purchased from Branchburg Rotarians or on any Friday night at the Somerville Classic Car Street Fair in front of Alfonso's Italian Restaurant on Main Street. The winning ticket will be drawn on the day of the motorcycle run.

The Rotary Club of Branchburg is committed to supporting local nonprofit veteran service agencies including The Veterans Network of NJ, Welcome Home Vets of NJ, Operation Sisterhood, Horses for Forces, Front Line Arts, Operation Jersey Cares and Operation ChillOut.
