Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 have been recently spotted testing in India. The two motorcycles were earlier supposed to come by 2019 but since the test mules seemed in a production ready state, the launch looks closer. The two motorcycles are fine examples of modern retro classics and their affordable price points make them even more desirable. The step by Bajaj launching the Husqvarna brand in India can prove to be a huge success as currently, there are no such retro classic bikes in India at price points that are easily accessible to the masses. In such a case, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 might not only prove to be a ‘dream come true’ for the modern retro classic bike lovers but will also stand high on the value for money proposition for which KTM has always been known for. With features like LED headlamp, slipper clutch, dual disc brakes with an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and fully digital instrument cluster having smartphone connectivity just like the new KTM 390 Duke, the new Husqvarnas are not just something limited to the visuals only.
The upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 share their engine with the KTM 390 Duke. Having said that, the mill of the two motorcycles displaces 373cc and has a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled configuration. The fuel injected motor is good for developing maximum power and torque outputs of 43 hp and 37 Nm respectively. The power and torque outputs of this engine can be revised in order to suit the characteristics of a modern retro classic.
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 will be manufactured at Bajaj’s production facility at Chakan, Pune and hence you can safely assume the motorcycles to come with a competitive pricing. The two will demand more premium than the KTM 390 Duke and will be priced under Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom). At such price points, the two Husqies look like a sweet deal that any modern retro bike lover would surely not want to miss!
