Female motorcyclist dies in Russell County crash

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - Russell County Coroner, Arthur Sumbry Jr. has confirmed to WTVM that a female died in a motorcycle crash Sunday night.

52-year-old Lynn Marie Kehus has bee identified as the victim of the fatal crash that occurred around 7:20 p.m. Feb. 18.

Kehus was a passenger of a Harley Davidson when the motorcycle crashed, left the roadway, and hit an embankment.

She was not wearing a helmet was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Harley Davidson, 61-year-old Gary Smith of Florida was not injured in the crash.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Hyram and Sandfort Road, approximately 15 miles west of Phenix City.

No word on if any other vehicles were involved. Alabama State Troopers are investigating the accident.
