PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Gresham man faces manslaughter and other charges after he crashed into a Harley Davidson motorcycle Saturday night on US-26, the Oregon State Police said.

Robert E. Walsh was driving a Chrysler van on US-26 when he crossed into the oncoming lane on a curve and slammed into the Harley around 6:15 p.m. just east of Rhododendron, authorities said.

David S. Weiss, 71, of Forest grove was killed in the crash. Nancy Jo Ludwig, 70, the motorcycle passenger, was airlifted to Legacy Emanuel for treatment of serious injuries. She’s a Hillsboro resident.

Officials said the Harley riders had helmets on at the time of the crash. 

Walsh, 54, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, DUII and assault.
