Prince William threw on his biker’s helmet and proved he’s the king of cool as he took the latest Triumph Tiger 1200 bike for a spin around a track.
The Duke of Cambridge visited Triumph Motorcycles in Leicestershire, East Midlands, on Tuesday as part of a day celebrating world-class British vehicular manufacture, research and development.
He later paid a visit to MIRA Technology Park in Warwickshire for the public engagement, which he did flying solo.
And it’s a good job he was on his own as if Kate Middleton had been there, she probably wouldn’t have let him take the motorcycle for a ride.
Before leaving Triumph Motorcycles, William donned a helmet and jumped on top of the latest bike.
And he seemed to enjoy himself, admitting after that it was ‘not long enough’.
William is fan of motorcycles, previously having owned a 1199cc Ducati.
But Kate has never been a fan of his hobby, once revealing how William’s biking used to fill her with ‘horror’ to a well-wisher during a visit to Scotland.
She is reported as saying: ‘He’s still riding it. It always fills me with horror when he goes out on it.’
But William has previously admitted he loves motorcycling as it allows him to be ‘anonymous’.
‘It does help being anonymous with my motorcycle helmet on because it does enable me to relax,’ he explained in an interview.
‘But I just enjoy everything about motorbikes and the camaraderie that comes with it.’
However, last year he revealed he was putting his motorcycling days behind him for the sake of Kate’s nerves.
We’re sure he got Kate’s permission before having a spin today…
While in Leicestershire, William, who is expecting his third child with Kate in April, opened the Triumph Motorcycles Factory Visitor Experience.
